ABOUT US
The West Coast Ceilidh Band was formed in 2013, by Andrew on accordion and Gordon (brother) on drums following a request for a New Year's Eve Ceilidh in Glasgow. It has since grown to a 4-piece band but remains a family affair with Margaret (mum) on piano and Alan (dad) on fiddle.
Andrew has competed in many major competitions. He has won first place in Musette, Classical, Scottish and Duet categories at numerous National Competitions. He went on the represent the UK in the World Accordion Championships gaining a position in the top 10.
Gordon learned his instrument originally with the Helensburgh & District Pipe Band and has gone on to tailor his skills for ceilidh dancing.
Alan and Margaret originally met through their love of music. They have played at venues across the country including the SEC, the City Halls and have played on the BBC's Hogmanay show.
